John Yancey Inn is happy to offer dedicated pet friendly rooms for our pet owners who want to bring their dog to the Outer Banks and enjoy a beach vacation. Pets are welcome in our Main Building rooms and our oceanfront Sea Building rooms.
We offer great access to the beach (Kill Devils local laws apply). We have plenty of green space for Sparky to play! We ask that you pick up after your pet, and refrain your dog from barking, as to not disturb other guests.
There is an additional daily pet fee - $20.00 per pet and no more than 2 pets per room.
Pets are not allowed on the beaches in Kill Devil Hills between May 15 and September 15 from 9 AM until 6 PM. However you and your leashed pet can be on the portion of the beach in front of our Inn and up to the high tide mark any time of day.
Kill Devil Hills does have a leash law and you must abide by that law anywhere on our Inn property -- pets can not run free.
Please clean up after you pet.
Any damages caused by pet will be billed to your room.
Please do not leave your pet unattended in your hotel room. If your pet is left in the hotel room at the time of housekeeping service, the housekeeper will not enter the hotel room. Housekeeper will leave fresh towels and toiletries at your door. There will not be a return visit by housekeeping that day.
Sorry, but no pets are allowed in the pool area, lobby or breakfast room.
Please Please be considerate of our other motel guests.
If your pet is continually barking or in any way bothering others, you may be asked to leave the hotel premises.
Dogs are allowed on the John Yancey hotel property, which extends to the mean high water mark
Dogs are allowed on the beach year-round as long as they are restrained by a leash not exceeding 10 feet. For more information, contact the town of Nags Head 252-441- 5508.
